Project Overview

Bringing the Trading Manager Admin to life was not just about designing a tool—it was about solving a real challenge through user-centered design, team collaboration, and strategic decision-making.

With the launch of our Algorithmic Order Admin, we empowered internal brokers to place algorithmic orders on behalf of customers. But achieving this required more than just implementing a feature; it demanded a deep understanding of broker workflows, pain points, and efficiency bottlenecks.

Understanding the Problem

The journey started with a simple business request: allow brokers to place algorithmic orders for customers. But to create a truly effective tool, we needed to understand the full picture.

Through in-depth user interviews with brokers, I mapped out their order-handling flow using a User Journey Map, uncovering inefficiencies and opportunities in five continuous stages: Request (from customer), Execution, Documentation, Tracking and Registration.

Defining the Right Solution

After the discover part of the first diamond is done with many ideas on the table, the next challenge was prioritization. I facilitated a project scoping workshop with the Product Owner and development team, using an Impact vs. Effort Matrix to identify the most valuable features. This collaborative process helped us balance user needs, business goals, and technical feasibility.

Overcoming Design Challenges

One of the biggest design challenges was adapting our consumer-focused design library to suit a pro-user trading environment. Instead of forcing an imperfect fit, we took a user-first approach:

• Redesigned navigation, introducing a structured vertical layout optimized for professional users.

• Built a scalable design framework that can be applied to future internal admin tools.

• Ensured seamless integration with existing systems while improving usability.

A Strong Foundation for the Future

The Trading Manager Admin is not just a finished product—it’s a foundation. I will continue iterating based on user feedback, ensuring that the tool evolves to meet the needs of the brokers.
